Nerds Cotton Candy
Nerds Cotton Candy.I mentioned earlier that my boys are kind of taking advantage of my more lax summer rules about candy under the guise of creating in the kitchen. I secretly love that they are wanting to experiment in the kitchen, even if they do create monumental messes, and don’t clean up after themselves very well. C’est la vie, right?

Their candy if choice right now is Nerds. Nerds ice cream, nerds marshmallows, nerds by themselves, and even nerds spun into cotton candy! Y’all I was a bit hesitant about this, but they begged me to try it, and being the crazy cool mom that I am, I let them have their fun…and enacted a mom tax on the fruits of their labor!
The boys added two tablespoons of nerds candies to our Nostalgia Electrics Cotton Candy Maker, and let it do its magic. *Disclaimer* It took FOREVER for it to spin into cotton candy. The colored candy coating on the Nerds spun off first and made a putrid colored sugar sludge. {You can kind of see it in the picture above} And the cotton candy maker kinda stopped spinning sugar, so I added more Nerds, because, who wouldn’t right? Finally,after what the boys deemed was an eternity {And it really did take a while} we started to see some cotton candy magic. It was just plain white, and it wasn’t especially fluffy, but it was delicious none the less, and the kids had fun! It should also be noted that warm Nerds are kind of amazing! We tossed a few Nerds in the cotton candy as it spun too.
So, the verdict for Nerds Cotton Candy: the boys loved the flavor, but hated how long it took to make…and because of that, we won’t likely make it again.
