It’s not clear as to why this happens, but it’s a widely-regarded fact that you should opt for half a size smaller than your regular size if you’re buying a pair of AF1. Of course, the silhouette comes in plenty of different variants; there’s the classic High, Mid and Low-top offerings, as well as special-edition pairs such as the AF1 React. While these variations might have slightly different build quality of fabrics, you can be safe in the knowledge that all Air Force 1s are crafted from the same last, meaning that they’ll fit exactly the same.

In fact, the silhouette can work in just about any outfit, as long as it’s styled correctly with the rest of the garments. For an iconic AF1 look, we’d suggest matching your kicks with a two-piece tracksuit, to really get that NYC Hip-Hop vibe. However, if you’re looking for a more casual offering, simply slip on your AF1s with a pair of loose-fitting denim, a T-shirt and a flannel shirt. This will create a laid-back workwear fit that’s currently bang on trend.

During the warmer months of the year, the AF1 is ideal for styling with shorts, so make sure you’ve got the right type of socks to pull the fit off.
