NOOK Apps Troubleshooting (2024)

IMPORTANT: NOOK Apps are no longer available for purchase or download. Devices that have the Google Play Store can download new apps through there. If you delete an app purchased through the NOOK Apps Store, there is no way to repurchase it. It will be permanently lost.

NOOK Apps are purchased through the NOOK Store™. A NOOK App may exhibit one of the following problems:

· Unable to open

· Slow or freezing

· Unable to download

If a NOOK App is not functioning properly, follow these steps:

IMPORTANT: This process does not apply to Google Play apps. Please contact the developer of the Google Play application directly. Developer support information is available on the app details page in the Developer section of the Overview. This information is accessible both in Shop and through the installed apps on the device.

1. Verify Wi-Fi® Connectivity.

2. Verify your NOOK account payment information is accurate and valid.

3. Archive and unarchive the app:

For NOOK Color/NOOK Tablet:

1. Tap apps on the device Home screen.

2. Long press the desired app.

3. Tap Archive.

4. Under Library, tap My Stuff.

5. Long press the desired app.

6. Tap Unarchive.

For NOOK HD/NOOK HD +:

On theHome screen and in your Library, NOOK Apps are marked with a small green NOOK logo in the upper right corner.

1. Tap APPS on the device Home screen.

2. Long press the desired app.

3. Tap Move to NOOK Cloud.

4. To move an item from NOOK Cloud back to your NOOK, find the cover image in your Library and tap on it.

Archiving will remove the app from the device, but will remain in the NOOK account and can be re-installed.

Do NOT select Delete. Deleting will permanently remove the app from your NOOK account.
