Preppy Navy and Yellow Inspiration Board | Every Last Detail (2024)

I’ve been working on the {ELD} Wedding Style Dictionary, so of course I have a ton of different wedding styles running through my head. One of the styles that I’ve never blogged about is preppy. Using the word “preppy” really describes a type of clothing and manner of dress, but in the wedding world, that all translates into colors and patterns.

A preppy wedding showcases a lot of stripes and plaids. There are quite a few color combinations that scream “PREPPY”, but then again, it’s the manner of how the colors are presented that makes them “preppy”. Navy and yellow is an extremely common preppy color combination, but it’s my favorite, mostly because it has the color yellow.

I LOVE those yellow dresses! Okay, I really love just about any yellow dress, but I would have jumped at the chance to buy that bridesmaid dress! Any other favorite preppy color combinations that you have?

One of my friends recently did a royal blue and pink color combination that was very preppy. I also like pink and green, but I don’t know if I’d want that for my wedding… you know, in 15 years. :)
