In March, April and May, humidity begins to rise and the environment starts to change rapidly.

After the first rains everything is turning greener, flowers start blooming, the rivers are rising and turning into a brown color.

The surf season in Puerto Escondido typically starts at the end of April and runs until mid-September.

At the end of April, you’ll start to see more surfers as late April is the beginning of surf season in Puerto Escondido.

Puerto Escondido Weather in June, July, August and September

The months of June, July, August and September are known as the rainy season in Puerto Escondido.

Although referred to as the rainy season, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s always rainy and cold during these months – believe it or not, this is actually the hottest time to visit Puerto Escondido.

The mountains are lush and green, and you can spot lots of different colorful flowers around town.

The months with the most rainfall in Puerto Escondido are June, July, August and September.

September is the absolute wettest and most humid month of the year with humidity rising above 70%.

There are two different types of storms that brew during these months in Puerto Escondido; the storms that come from behind the mountains and the storms that build above the ocean.

Clouds that start building up behind the mountains in the afternoons bring heavy rains to Puerto ranging from 10 minutes to a few hours or more while the storms that start in the ocean can sometimes bring rain for three days or more.

Puerto Escondido Weather in October and November

While the weather In October and November is generally fresh, there are still chances of occasional rainfall and thunderstorms.

Overall the weather will be very pleasant during this time as Puerto transitions from the rainy season to the dry season.

Temperatures are around 29°C (84.2°F) during the day and 25°C (77°F) during the night hours.

The humidity is stable at around 60% during the months of December and January.

When is High Season in Puerto Escondido?

Puerto Escondido high season runs from mid-December until mid-January.

People from all over the world come to Puerto to escape their winters and to enjoy some rest and relaxation along the beautiful coastline of Oaxaca.

In 2022, Semana Santa will be celebrated from April 10th to 16th and this is a time where all of Mexico’s beaches are saturated with national tourism from all parts of the country.

Tip: If you’re planning on visiting Puerto Escondido in April, you’ll want to avoid visiting during holy week, also known as Semana Santa in Mexico.
