My sims owned a bakery back when I first bought GTW. I haven't played the lot since and after GT and all the other expansions decided to revamp it as a public lot. Now how do I get my sims to sell it and once they do will it empty all the furniture off the lot??

What's also happening is it won't let me build any further because there is no more money in the stores chauffeurs while my sims household has plenty!

You can go to manage worlds. & click on the lot, & there should be an option to sell the store. You'll get a notification that the money will be X dollars will be added back to your household funds. The lot will then turn into a regular NPC retail store. If you want it to be a public lot, then you can go into build, & change it to the lot that you want.

    Hello.
If you want to continue to run it as a retail store and build onto it , you can have your sims go to the store and then transfer money from the household funds into the retail funds. On the retail panel, the button on the bottom left hand side is the retail funds transfer button.
On the bottom right hand side of the panel is a button where you can sell the store.

But I'll lose all the contents, no?

@DeadFishy But what if you empty the store first and then sell the lot?

When you sell the lot, the contents of the store should remain. There has been some issues lately though with food disappearing from food retail stores.

I started a Sim with $0.00 and built it up from there, but to get into the game I needed to buy a lot, so I bought the cheapest I could and painted on it until I got enough money to start a painting store in another world. Now I am stuck with this lot and I want to sell it, or just dump it. What do I do? I do not want anything to do with the lot, as I am living in my store. Maybe someday I will get a small home in Vampireland, but until then I really want to sell this lot I needed to buy to get my sim into the game.
    Thank you

    Hello
Your sims need to still own a residential lot when they own a store. It is best just to keep the lot with not many items in it, so that the bills aren't too high on the lot.

I have both GTW and DO packs. I haven't gone into the owning/running a retail store with GTW yet. When I got DO and I tried to live on the same lot as my restaurant. My game became too buggy so I moved my Sims back into a house.
    - Can you live on the lot that houses your retail store? Or do you need to have a home lot?
    - Have any of the bugs with DO been fixed? Can you live on a DO restaurant lot?

    Hello @mebagl15
Your sims can live on the same lot that your retail store is on, but you also need to own a residential lot. If there are sims who work or go to the school in the household, they will return home after school/work to the residential lot. They will then need to come to the retail lot.
You can also live on a restaurant lot, but there has been some issues arisen when sims live there. You need to also own a residential lot.
