What is the best way to transfer money to France? ›

Bank Transfer

Bank transfers are usually the cheapest option when it comes to funding your international money transfer with Wise. Bank transfers can be slower than debit or credit cards, but they usually give you the best value for your money.

IBAN and SWIFT are the two common standards for sending international bank wires. Both can be used to identify a recipient's bank, so that other parties can send money to them, even across borders. IBAN is the leading standard within Europe and neighboring countries, although the SWIFT system extends worldwide.

You can send up to 50,000 GBP to a French bank account with Western Union via bank transfer.

What information do I need about my recipient? You'll need their full name, full address (we don't accept PO boxes), bank account number, ACH or wire routing number (or ABA), and account type. If you're sending to an individual, please include their first and last names and use only Latin characters (a-z).

Can I send money through Zelle internationally? Zelle is only available for customers with a US bank account and US registered mobile number. That means it's not an option for sending international payments to friends and family overseas.

The bank account details you need when you send money internationally to France generally include the recipient's full name, their BIC or SWIFT number, and their IBAN or account number.

IBANs are more secure than SWIFT codes because they are unique identifiers for bank accounts in specific countries. The United States Postal Service (USPS) extends its international shipping services to include shipments from the USA to France. Opt for First-Class Mail International, the most economical choice, with delivery times ranging from 2 to 4 weeks.
