Sending and receiving money is totally free and fast, and most payments are deposited directly to your bank account in minutes.

Cash App can be used to send and receive money with anyone through their phone number or £Cashtag, even if they are in another country! When you send a payment outside of your country, Cash App will convert the payment based on the mid-market exchange rate at the time the payment is created, and your recipient will receive the funds in their local currency.

Sending Money

To send a payment:

  1. Open Cash App
  2. Enter the amount you would like to send
  3. Tap Pay
  4. Enter an email address, phone number, or £Cashtag
  5. Optionally, enter what the payment is for
  6. Tap Pay

The payment will be available instantly in your recipient’s balance.

Payments are subject to 3DS2, which will prompt you for identity confirmation prior to being sent. This will prompt you to verify information or login to your bank accounts website directly. Receiving Money

You can also use Cash App to request money. To do so:

  1. Open Cash App
  2. Enter the amount you would like to request
  3. Tap Request
  4. Enter an email address, phone number, or £Cashtag
  5. Optionally, enter why you are requesting funds
  6. Tap Request

When you request money, the person you requested money from will have 14 days to accept or decline the request. If they do not respond within 14 days, the request will automatically expire.

When you receive a Cash App payment, it will be available instantly in your balance. You can then choose to send the money to friends or family, or Cash Out to your linked debit card.

Whenever you send or receive a payment, you can view the details of the completed transaction by tapping the Activity Tab and selecting the transaction.

Sending and Receiving Limits

When using Cash App you are initially able to:

  1. Send up to £250 per 7 consecutive days
  2. Receive up to £500 per 7 consecutive days
  3. Hold a stored balance of £500 total

If you send or receive more than the limit, you will be prompted to verify your account with your full name, date of birth and address in order to keep Cash App secure.

Once verified you will be able to:

  1. Send up to £1,500 per 7 consecutive days
  2. Receive up to £10,000 per 7 consecutive days
  3. Hold a stored balance of £10,000 total

To send or receive a cross border payment you will be prompted to verify information within the app. Once verified you will be able to:

  1. Send up to £1,000 per 7 consecutive days
  2. Receive up to £1,000 per 7 consecutive days
