Septum – Amato Piercing (2024)

Septum piercings are done through the center cartilage of the nose, usually through the spot of thinner tissue there known as the alar cartilage. The septum has been pieced for hundreds of years in many cultures, and in recent years has enjoyed an upturn in popularity again. Partially due to the fact the septum can be hidden while it is still healing by flipping it into the nostrils. Also, in recent years jewelry companies have started creating more ornate and beautiful and dainty pieces which appeal to more people. Septum piercings are usually easy to get and very easy to heal. Once healed the retain size well and make it easy and comfortable to switch between many different pieces of jewelry. These are tricky piercings to get correct and straight given the anatomy, so it’s exceptionally important to see a reputable piercer for them. They also happen to be our owner Joe’s favorite piercing to do!
