What to do if Vinted item isn't as described? ›

WHAT IS VINTED? Vinted is an online marketplace through which users are able to sell or purchase certain items with other users.

It might be worth contacting the manufacturer initially, just to make sure you're using the product correctly. But if the problem truly is a defect, it's best to return the item for a refund or exchange—if the retailer allows it and you're still in the return period.

Buyer protection

We'll issue a refund if your item doesn't arrive, arrives damaged, or is not as described. You have 2 days to submit a claim. Unless agreed otherwise, the buyer covers return fees. Find out more about Vinted's refund and returns policy.

When we notify you that the parcel should have been delivered, you have 2 days to report an issue and submit a refund request (under our Buyer Protection). If you don't report any issues within this time (or if you press “Everything is OK”), we'll complete the order and release your payment to the seller.

Your account will be unblocked automatically after 7-30 days. You'll see the end date of the block when you log in to Vinted. We can't unblock it earlier unless you provide evidence that we've blocked it by mistake.

If you've paid for the Item Verification service, and the parcel didn't arrive and seems to be lost (in transit or at our hub), you'll receive a full refund of the whole purchase (all service and shipping fees).

Items that include human or animal remains or by-products from the human body. Items that are (otherwise) prohibited by law or regulations. Restricted Items: Items that are either not clothing, do not relate to fashion, beauty, accessorising, children, homeware, or simply do not align with the Vinted vision.

Why Can You Get Banned From Selling Items Definitively? Getting a permanent block means that the user didn't follow the rules and conditions properly. The issue needs to be sorted out with the support team, and online resellers usually have to prepare an appeal for suspension.

Press “I have an issue” in your conversation screen with the seller within 2 days from being notified by Vinted that the item should have been delivered. Attach photos of the item and explain your issue to the seller.

Once the Item has been confirmed as lost or damaged in transit, the Buyer will be issued a refund of the Total Price on VINTED.
