Skirtstook a hiatus for awhile, but now they are making a comeback! This I am thrilledabout as I help clients create outfits for the spring and summer season. We are seeing moreskirtoptions in stores again for casual wear, dinners out and special events. Easy, breezy…. they are a fun and chic alternative to shorts and dresses in the spring and summer.
I am sharing with you skirt styles tips for women of every age to keep you looking stylish and age appropriate, as well as inspiration images to help you create your own skirtoutfits.
Style Tip: Now is the time in your life to have some fun and fearlessly show off those legs! Mini skirts are in for our younger femmes, in particular denim styles. If you love trying out different styles, then try out a midi skirt with a pair of 3″+ stacked heel sandals for a dressier event or dinner out. A cropped top + higher waist skirt looks fresh and age appropriate.
Style Tip: Have fun rocking the trends in a way that best flatters your figure. If you love your legs, then try a shorter hemline (everything in moderation!). But make sure to pair the shorter skirt with a slightly more modest top to avoid looking like you are trying too hard. If you prefer a more conservative yet current look then opt for a fabulous below the knee or midi length skirt and a silk blouse with a stacked heel mule or even paired with a tee and sneakers or slide sandals for a casual vibe.
Style Tip: My clients in this age bracket often prefer to conceal their knees, and if you fall into this category then this is your season! While maxiskirtsare ‘out’, we again are seeing the below the knee and midi lengths in full force. If you are on the shorter side always pair this lengthskirtwith a small to tall heel to avoid looking overpowered. And if you love your legs/knees, then askirthitting right above the knees is always in style.
