Storing Your Printer (2024)

Follow these guidelines if you need to store your printer for along period:

  • If theprinter is not used for an extended period of time with the poweroff, clean the print head nozzles. Turn the printer on at leastonce every two weeks to automatically clean the print head andprevent the nozzles from clogging. If you do not turn on theprinter for a long time, the printer may malfunction.
  • If you willnot use the printer for more than two weeks, maintenance must beperformed by a service engineer before and after this period.Contact Epson support.
  • Even if theprinter is not turned on, ink that has accumulated in the waste inktube may leak out. Make sure the waste ink bottle is installed evenwhen the printer is not on.
  • Remove any loaded media before storing the printer to preventthe pressure rollers from causing creases in the media, which maycause jams or damage to the print head.
  • Make sure that the print head is in the home position beforestoring the printer. If it is left away from the home position fora long time, the print quality may decline.
  • Close allthe covers on the printer to prevent dust and debris from gettingin. If the printer will be not be used for an extended period oftime, protect it with an anti-static cloth or other cover. Theprint head nozzles can become clogged if fine dust gets on theprint head, and you may not be able to print properly.
  • Store the printer on a level surface; do not store it on angle,on its end, or upside down.
