Amir Teymouri, a co-owner of The Tangiers, is opening another Warehouse District nightclub.
Teymouri is calling the project Monarch and described the venue as a “boutiquey, posh nightclub.” At 3,000 square feet, it’s smaller than many of the surrounding Warehouse District clubs.
It just so happens that Teymouri worked in the same space, at 322 First Ave., a decade ago when it was called Farenheit Nightclub. Since then it’s gone through several ownership and name changes. It’s been the Elixir, Light Nightclub and Spades Nightclub.
Don’t expect the same fate for Monarch, Teymouri said.
“Everything I do, I do it for a long period of time,” he said.
Teymouri, his brother Ali Teymouri and Behnad and Ivy Taheri have owned The Tangiers since 2012. Monarch is a solo project for Teymouri.
The building is owned by Dario Anselmo and includes The Fine Line.
Teymouri said Monarch will try to capture the 25- to 40-year-old crowd. He expects an Oct. 1 opening.
