Though neither one has confirmed this, and Taylor was still dating DJ Calvin Harris at the time, fans speculate that the couple met at the annual fête based on the lyrics to “Dress” off Taylor’s 2017 album Reputation. The lyrics included hints like “Flashback to when you met me, your buzzed cut and my hair bleached,” which referred to the singer's Met Gala look.
