Though Texas A&M feels strongly it already has several strong options already on campus, Mike Elko and his staff have still been on the hunt for more depth in the receiver room.

They have now added another body to that room. After receiving an offer from Texas A&M last week, Iowa transfer receiver Jacob Bostick has now committed to the Maroon and White.

Since entering the transfer portal, Bostick also added offers from Pittsburgh, Ole Miss, Houston, Fresno State, Vanderbilt and Iowa State.

Bostick redshirted his freshman season (2022) before returning to appear in five games in 2023 with the Hawkeyes. He comes with four years of eligibility remaining and the opportunity to grow under Holmon Wiggins and Mike Elko.

As a high school prospect coming out of the 2022 class, Bostick was rated as a three-receiver and ranked as Illinois' No. 14 overall prospect.

It's been a frustrating go for Bostick at times, who has been limited by injuries the past two years. This spring though he has been full go in practice and drawing praise from several of his teammates which has been exciting for Bostick.

"To be honest, like I just mentioned, you know, I don't take anything for granted," Bostick told Iowa's group of reporters earlier this spring. "I'm grateful to be out there each and every time just because, you know, I've dealt with injuries, you know, it's not fun being out watching practice. So doing anything I can to help the team is something that I hold pride."

Despite being out, Bostick said he still looked for ways to contribute when he was out of action last season.

"I feel like last year my role on the team was kind of to be the leader to push the team along," Bostick told reporters. "As I got healthy, you know, I wasn't able to be out there with them, but anything I could do to help them, you know, whether that's just a little bit of extra study and a little bit of extra help on a few plays. Like, I was, I was trying to do that with the guys, so I'm really happy to be out there now, being able to be the guy on the team that's, you know, being a little bit more vocal and, you know, helping some of the younger receivers."

He joins an intriguing receiver corps led by Noah Thomas, Mooose Muhammad and Jahdae Walker. The Aggies dipped their toes into the transfer portal though for reinforcements as Bostick joins Cyrus Allen and Jabre Barber as the other additions out of the transfer portal. Freshman wide receiver Izaiah Williams has also had a strong spring and could be in position to contribute as well.
