Jungmun Saekdal Beach, nestled within the vibrant Jeju Resort Complex on the southern coast of Jeju Island, is a popular destination known for its ample waves, showers, and access to a nearby eatery. This beach offers a compact and convenient setting for beachgoers seeking thrilling surfing opportunities. Situated at the base of an impressive cliff, it maintains an intimate atmosphere despite its close proximity to the rest of Jungmun Tourist Complex.

Slide 1 of 13

Jungmun Saekdal Beach is an amazing tourist place in South city of Jeju called Seogwipo-si

Too crowded beach, almost impossible to enjoy. Looks more an amusem*nt park rather than a real natural spot.

It is a little bit of a hike to get down to the beach, but we'll worth it. First off, I witnessed the filming of a Korean movie by the Cafe, second I witnessed a BEAUTIFUL Korean female Model at the beach posing and couldn't help but look. Lol but the water is clear and sand is nice. Small rocky sand but good enough for kids to play in or to walk on. It feels nice

Be aware!! This beach is really nice so you do want to come but you will be sorta forced to get a table, chairs and parasol since there is absolutely no shaded area. It’s so hot, you will feel like you are on the stove. there are group of guys charging w30,000 for 4chairs, a small table and a parasol. When you leave, you can’t pass to others since these people won’t allow that and want to charge other people. Bring tubes since these tubes are being charged too.

With a slope of 5 degrees and average depth of 1.2 meters, Jungmun Saekdal Beach is characterized by a white arch-shaped sandy shore and four distinctive colored sands of white, black, red and gray called jinmosal. This colorful sandy beach is 560 meters in length and 50 meters in width and has appeared in several dramas and movies thanks to its beautiful scenery created by Jeju Island’s black basalt and jinmosal. The cliffs that line the shore on the right leads to a naturally formed 15 meter-long cave. The cliffs are also a habitat for many rare species, serving as a perfect spot for an ecology tour. Jungmun Beach offers a variety of marine sports such as parasailing, water skiing, windsurfing, scuba diving, rafting, and yacht tour for an exciting vacation under the sun.

Not crowded at all on a Tuesday late morning

Very beautiful beach. Great waves for surfers, not too crowded. Loved it, the vibe there is the best. Go to the local bar 'The cliff' near the beach to enjoy pizza and coctails with a view.

If you go to South Korea.. first of all don't miss to visit Jeju Island and second... come to this wonderful place!Jungmun Saekdal Beach in Jeju, explored in February, was a tranquil slice of coastal beauty. Despite the winter season, the beach retained its serene allure, with its golden sands and the rhythmic melody of the waves against the shore. The peaceful atmosphere was a refreshing contrast to the bustling city life. While not ideal for swimming in the colder weather, the beach offered a picturesque setting for a leisurely stroll, allowing for moments of peaceful contemplation while enjoying the soothing sounds of the sea. Jungmun Saekdal Beach was a serene escape, showcasing Jeju's natural beauty even in the quieter months.

Nice and beautiful beach located in Jeju city, Seoul South Korea. If you have planing for Jeju, I strongly recommend to visit this beach

The weather was not great when we went, and out of season for swimming, but there were loads of surfers. First let me preface, I am from Australia and KNOW beaches. This one is very different. The sand is course with a mixture of black, red and white sand. The beach us quite wide and surrounded by cliffs. There are volcanic rocks on both sides of the bay and lush vegetation at its back. I liked this beach alot. It had a sheepish access to it, but manageable and more like a ramp. You can walk down from steps at several points from the cliffs. There is also a board walk part way along the beach that goes past a waterfall and surfboard graveyard??? There weren't many people when we went, but I think kin Summer it would be crowded. It is the most famous beach on Jeju. Not my favourite, but worth a visit and a gander.

When ypu park above the beach there is a bar right above it on the side, or you can take stairs and walk all the way up to another bar to see the view from a higher point. The beach looked very nice. I visited in April and it was rainy, windy and full of surfers and waves. From the parking you can also easily access the beach by walking down for couple of minutes

Underrated beach in the off-season. No swim ring or lifeguards but a few surfers. Water is cool but not ice cold and it's remarkably shallow. Clear water as well but no wildlife in sight in late October.

The beach is very quiet during winter..we had to walk from the entrance to this place. It was a bit of a long walk

Hamdeok Beach is a long, wide white-sand beach located east of Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal on Jeju Island. The beach is known for its clear and shallow water, making it a popular destination during summer. The beach features an arched bridge over black basalt, and a red lighthouse. The calm waters make Hamdeok Beach ideal for kayaking.

Slide 1 of 14

A really lovely beach in Jeju. The water is clean and clear enough. It's a nice turquoise blue. It can get crowded but it didn't feel overrun. During low tide the water does get really low and you can walk out quite far into the sea. Also during low tide other beaches are formed that would disappear during high tide.

A beautiful, scenic, and relaxing beach on Jeju Island!Hamdeok Beach is a sandy beach with many cafes and restaurants just within walking distance. One of the popular cafes just right by the beach is Cafe Delmondo. This particular cafe serves nice pastries, coffee, and drinks. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful view of the sea from this cafe.Highly recommended to visit this beach and taking a stroll along the beach itself is rewarding. The blue water and clean beach are perfect for a family outing!

This is a beautiful beach and was my first introduction to Jeju Island where I saw the volcanic rocks (charcoal black) and the aquamarine waves. There is also a small hill covered with rapeseed (canola) flowers, great for taking photos. It was quite windy when we arrived (there was a monsoon coming) but it was nontheless beautiful. There's a lot of cafes facing the sea and would have been wonderful to see the sunset here next time.

I visited this beach in June and it was quite busy, there was not much comfortable space to sit if you didn’t wanna pay for the chairs. The swimming area was also limited and there were lots of people in the water. The hike around the beaches was enjoyable with good views of the beach.

This beach is absolutely stunning! 😍 The white sand and crystal-clear waters make it so tempting to take a stroll along the shore.

One of the nearest beaches from the Jeju airport. The transparent, emerald-color water meets the basalt land beautifully.

Definitely go here if you need a beach experience in Jeju, and try going during sunset hours. Our experience is somewhat disappointing due to the cloudy skies, but the lights of the storefronts from the pier is beautiful. The cafe by the beach is also great for a short break.

beautiful beach 🏝 color of the sea is amazing it's clear enough to see everything

A wonderful lazy beach with local charm and good water with a cool vibe. Great to avoid the crowds.

Where to start ? This beach is an absolute wonder. A nugget of nature ! I never thought it was possible to see this kind of beach in South Korea ! However, it's possible in Jeju ! The sea is a fantastic turquoise blue, and the walk around is so peaceful ! It was an enchanting interlude on Jeju Island, and this beach is really worth a visit !

Great beach ambience. Small but cozy beach with number restaurants, bars and dinning places.

It's so pretty here you have good food places nearby. Was only a little sad that they don't let you swim very far they keep a line and you are not allowed to cross. It was around 1,50 cm and deeper was not allowed. The beach itself is very clean and a lot of sitting places

Clear water and calm waves. I like how there are parts of the ocean split by sand where you can play in with no waves. There are multiple areas where you can swim, I swam at the area closest to the hill where you can walk up. Restrooms nearby with water to wash feet. There are showers and lockers rooms but they were closed when I was there in the evening. Sunset was so pretty, many engagements photos taken here. Street performers at now. People selling thier crafts and many restaurants nearby. I was here in mid June and water was cold but I got use it it and became really nice with the sun setting on my back.

Woljeongri Beach is one of the stunning beaches on Jeju Island, known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and soft white sand. What sets it apart are the charming cafes and restaurants that line the shore, offering not only delicious food but also captivating architectural designs. These establishments provide a cozy retreat, especially during rainy days, allowing visitors to savor their beverages while admiring the picturesque views.

Awesome beach. It can be lovely and calm at times but being on the west, it takes on the prevailing winds.I had a great experience surfing here, the storm had kicked up some consistent swells which made for a excellent first surfing experience. The seafront path is really nice and there's plenty of cafés in the area, if that's your thing. The beach has cleaners too who clear away the majority of the detritus which washes up or is discarded. Sad but unfortunately necessary. Resultantly, the beach was very clean.

The beach view was beautiful! The experience was so relaxing! Very nice!

Beautiful beach, the weather was lovely when we were there in October!

I love this place! Majestic windmills, beach, waves for surfing. What else is needed for happiness?

Beaches in Jeju are all different and still all pretty.

The beach is nice for great pictures. Parking lot is just across it. There is also a pedestrian and bicycle lane.

good to come here and spend half a day just to chill at a cafe, look at the beach amd relax.

Very nice beach with alot of cafes and restaurants along the top. Has a certain area for swimming and also surfing with lifeguard patrolling the areas

Beautiful beach with pretty wind generators in the background. Lots of cafe along the beach to chill out should you need a break from the sun.

Love the colour of the sea water. You can see several wind turbines too. There are also several eateries and couple of convenient stores.

The view is gorgeous. Seawater is so clear. The wind turbine makes the view so spectacular. My son loved to play there.

My review is based on my personal experience which can be so different from others' experience.(+) The most famous beach in Jeju, especially for a pre-wedding photoshoots(+) Breath-taking view, crystal clear water & clean beach(+) Lots of people come here for surfing(+) You can try kayaking on a clear-transparent kayak, so you can see the pretty color of the ocean(+) Lots of nice, pretty & instagrammable cafes with great views

Geumneung Beach, located on Jeju Island, is a stunning stretch of white sand and black volcanic rock formations. When the tide recedes, sandbanks appear with brilliant turquoise water snaking out to sea. It's less crowded than the popular Hyeopjae beach and offers a serene and spacious atmosphere for a quiet vacation.

Slide 1 of 9

Super nice white sandy beach. It was a bit cold out so not many people but still very pretty. Nice area with restrooms and a place to wash the sand off.

very cool beach (not swimmable) full of black rocks to walk on for fun and low tide pools to play in for kids. very beautiful and quiet. not many people.

Awesome beach! Amazing views all around. The beach is very large and in the water there are several sand bars so you can walk out into the water very far. The water and sand are both very clean and it wasn't crowded on a Saturday in September. Plenty of cool restaurants and spots around to visit too.

Hyeopjae Beach was clear, soft sand, less seaweed but crowded, so I swam at Geumneung Beach, which was walking distant since it's on the same area. Geumneung had some seashells on the sand shores, more seaweed, and water was slightly less clear, but I really liked it since it was less crowded and a bigger swimming area. Waves were really soft, so I was able to float on my back. Weather changed from sunny to stormy really fast and it was a nice experience. Warm and cold water keep coming and going.

The best beach out west? Was great at high tide and low tide, rocky outcrops and rock pools to explore, and the sunset was unreal. Worth at nights stay or even longer.

Fantastic view with Sun

We stopped by for lunch on recommendation from our very knowledgeable and friendly guide. No regrets. The restaurant was more for locals. Seafood hotpot galore. Yumms. The view and seafront is worth a stop and walk by. Idyllic.

Free parking and good view

Some of the best Beach habitat we have seen, especially in the lava rocks. We found shrimp, anemones, crabs, urchins, snails, mussels, and more!Bathrooms and foot washing station are great to have close by. Be advised, there is no TP in the stalls, you have to get it from the dispenser at the entrance of the toilet and take it in with you.Parking can be challenging, but people cycle through enough that spaces open up.The beach itself is well maintained and has several areas with umbrellas. Lifeguards in the swimming area, and plenty of tidal pools for the little ones.

Gwakji Beach, also known as Gwakji Gwamul Beach, is a beloved spot among locals and visitors alike. It offers wide sandy shores perfect for activities like clam digging and provides kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals. The beach's spring-fed public baths are an added attraction. Despite its outstanding facilities, the beach is often less crowded than others, making it an underrated gem for those seeking a serene and beautiful coastal experience without the usual buzz of popular beaches.

Slide 1 of 12

It's quite ok. There is pretty good free parking and some interesting walks. The beach is big. There are no waves though. Good for families.

Love it, got coastal road near by. Pretty sunset too and some cafe to sit by to look at the sunset. The sand also so white and there is washroom nearby. A lot of coffee place too. Will repeat here again when it less windy and when the weather is fine. The beach so pretty.

Beautiful beach with white sand and blue water. Great place to take photos. Nice black volcanic rock. Very family friendly. There are bathrooms and an open air changing area for men and another one for women. Amazing place to watch the sunset. There are a few cafés around if you are hungry and want to buy something to eat.

When paddle boarding here, but it was nice to collect seashells and just walk in the ocean for a bit. Super clear water

Local beach with choppy fun waves! I never been to a beach having so many kids and lilo, quite packed. But the wave was so fun and the water is so clear. Western restaurants are all very tasty. It’s hard to order at the local restaurants if you don’t speak Korean. There’s a big cheaper mart on the back of the main road. Everything is there. Handy. Worth to stay a couple of days.

Colourful contrast with the white sand, turquoise ocean and black volcanic rocks. Gets busy but most of the beach covered with plastic sheeting - am guessing to limit the amount of sand being swept away.

The best coast i have seen in Jeju so far. The awesome coast line, nature and sea combinatation with awesome vibe of cultural elements with palm trees. Ddfinitely must visited place.

Super clean white sand beach in early morning. The different areas of the beach offers water at different temperatures and textured sand. The bright green seaweed is unique. swimming is fun and the facilities nearby are great. One of my favourite beaches in South Korea.

clear blue sea water. a calm and quiet beach for a relaxing afternoon.

Sometimes so windy,Better to check the weather before planning.

Pretty coastal walk. A lot of people canoning and snorkeling. Free outdoors pool area separated by males and females. There are free roofted chairs/tables where you can sit and enjoy the view. I swam in the area where there were a lot of kids, water was clear, not deep, and soft waves. Sand not as soft/fine as Hyeopjae Beach but if I lived here, I would probably come here a lot with friends/family. 🥰 Good day

If I could rated zero, I would! The life guards at 4:00pm told everyone to get out of the water even though the water was calm. It’s like they can’t do their job, like saving people! How are you going to advertise the beach for jeju tourism and say you can’t go in. I went to another beach and they also told us we couldn’t go in. Is it because we are not native to Korea, is that why they are discriminating? We couldn’t even put our feet in. I put some photos and videos to show you how calm the water was. For sure these life guards don’t even know how to swim which is their job.

Samyang Black Sand Beach is a stunning black sand beach on Jeju Island, Korea. The water here is crystal clear and the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. The black sand is sourced from volcanic activity, which means it has some amazing healing properties. This beach is relatively unknown to tourists, but those who choose it are well aware of its special qualities.

Slide 1 of 4

Highly recommended. It has nice scenery and black colour sand makes this beach special.

This beach had some nice black sand. Very fine and neat to look at. Not as many folks on this beach as Hamdeok beach, but it is both smaller and located much more residential. When I was there in 27 Sep 2020, there seemed to be a lot of construction around the each which is why it lost a star. Not a ton of benches or places to sit either. Had a few restaurants near by as well.

This beach has black sand which is specialty of Jeju island.

Black sands with seas that blend in with the horizon, and ships lighting their lamps on the horizon. Amazingly beautiful!

The black sand beach at Geommeolle is the perfect spot to spend a relaxing day in the sun. The beach is made from finely ground rocks, infused with trace minerals like quartz which catch the light, making it a beautiful white color. Additionally, the climate at Geommeolle is not too cold, so you can enjoy being outdoors without having to worry about beating the cold. There is also ample parking for bikes and cars, making getting around this island easy and convenient.

So cool! I don't think I've ever seen black sand before. Definitely check this out if you're on Udo.

Super island. I went there in March, the climate is not too much cold but you should cover yourself by coat at least. Very safe, we have parking for bike cycle, car every where for free. In this place, we have a ice-scream coconut store. Very delicious. Good taste.@@

The popular Gimnyeong Beach on Jeju Island is a tranquil spot perfect for taking in stunning views and refreshing ocean breezes. The white sand, clear waters, and soothing environment make it an ideal spot for a relaxing day at the beach. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from as well as various other attractions nearby, making this one of the most popular tourist destinations on Jeju Island.

Slide 1 of 7

Second best beach on the island (after Hamdeok), the water color is amazing and the sand is unbelievably white. Amazing photos spot. It gets crowded in summer like all the beaches on the island, but the water and beach is clean and you can also do water sports. Good snorkeling spot

The beach itself has no problem. It’s beautiful truly. The sand is so white and fine. The view is stunning and relaxing. You get to see the windmills and beach at the same time. However, I wish that there is a clean up crew or ways to clean up the shore. Me and my kids were talking about how we would love to pick up the trash with the claw thingy. Lol. There is so much trash from people. Of course it can be solved if people have discipline and not throw trash on the beach. However, it cannot be helped since some people does not care. So trash cans and regular clean up would help a lot.

A petite beach. Good place to take a couple of scenic pictures. Water is clean.

I found many visitors here. I see it is very close to a beach found in a tropical country. White sand and clear water. And there is a coffee cafe near the beach which has a good view.

The beach is nice and the water is not too deep. The only problem are the lifeguards, who won't let you pass over a certain distance. Apparently because they don't want the children on the beach to want to go there as well, even tho the water gets really shallow in the middle of the sea again. Also, it should be the parents responsibility to take care of their children and not some strangers, who want to enjoy some good swim. When many people gather here, it can be really annoying because the allowed spot for swimming is getting really crowded and it feels like some public bath. If you want to avoid that I would recommend to come here early in the morning, when the lifeguards don't work yet and not many people are here. Otherwise the beach is pretty.

It was very peaceful yet many restaurants can be found. Lovely!

Very pretty beach, with black volcanic rock accenting the white sand and turquoise water amazingly.

This is probably the best beach in Jeju for those who enjoy chilling at beaches that feel liberating. The top beaches in Jeju like Hyupjae had so many rules, crowded with sunbrella everywhere, and blocked off with lifeguards preventing you from exploring beyond the shallow boring water. Unlike those beaches, this beach is open and you can endlessly snorkel around the rocks, with a small beach where you can lay out your beach towels. It has the chill cool clean and relaxing beach vibe to heal the soul unlike most touristy beaches in Jeju. One of the best beaches I’ve been to!

A perfect place to chill out. Absolutely beautiful

There's almost nothing there at high tide, but a beautiful little sand bar and clear water at low tide.

It is close to Sanbangsan Mountain and the Yongmeori Coastline, and the islands of Hyeongjedo, Marado, and Gapado are off the coast to the southwest. On one side of the beach is a fresh water spring where people can enjoy a freshwater bath. The beach is located in Hwasun-ri in Andeok-myeon, which is easily accessible andhas accommodations, shops, and restaurants.

At the beginning of springSome people come and stay in hunt on the sea shore and take Relax

Pretty but no swimming.

Sunbathing.Swimming and playing are very excited for children

Hwasun Golden Sand Beach is a nice beach without a lot of rocks to contend with. It's also sheltered from heavier waves by the sea wall that turns it into a harbor of sorts. Nice picnic areas and some good camping spots too. We like it because it's not prone to issues with currents that could be a danger to our kids. It's easy two get to, which also means that it's popular. So, it can get crowded on occasion. All the same, the advantages are enough that we go there probably more than any other beach in the area. I'd definitely recommend it.
