After being off the air for more than 15 months, and about one year after Bravo announced it’d renewed the show, Project Runway is finally coming back to Bravo this summer with an all-star season.
This is Project Runway season 20, and while Bravo is referring to it as season 20 some places, it’s also calling it the new season Project Runway All-Stars.
Yes, to make things as confusing as possible, Bravo has decided to give season 20 the same name as a spin-off show that already aired seven seasons starting in 2015, although it is adding a hyphen to the title.
Project Runway All-Stars premiered after the show moved from Lifetime to Bravo, which was reportedly caused in part by format owner The Weinstein Company’s irritation with Bravo’s other reality TV.
Harvey Weinstein is now in prison, because of all of this, which also led Lifetime to cancel Project Runway and Project Runway All-Stars.
Bravo later acquired the rights to the format from the company that bought the Weinstein Company’s assets.
But when that change happened in 2018, there was no mention of any future for Project Runway All-Stars.
That spin-off—which had three different hosts, most recently Alyssa Milano, and judges Georgina Chapman and Isaac Mizrahi—appears to be dead, since this new Project Runway All-Stars features the new judges.
Project Runway 20 has judges but no host
Speaking of hosts: Karlie Kloss is not returning to host Project Runway season 20, which appears to be going host-less.
Christian Siriano is returning as mentor; judges Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth are also back.
Bravo’s announcement detailed some of the challenges “that test their artistry and push their limit,” such as designing a Below Deck uniform, and guest judges, including Kate Chastain and Luann de Lesseps. Yep, Bravo’s gonna Bravo.
Other guest judges include Stacey Bendet, Jennie Garth, Sergio Hudson, Steven Kolb, Billy Porter, Zac Posen, Law Roach, Alicia Silverstone, and Lena Waithe.

The new cast has 14 designers, six of whom are from seasons 15 and on, while eight are from seasons 1 through 10.
