In recent times, blazers have been worn by men with a button up shirt and non-matching trousers such as khakis, as opposed to wearing them with a matching pants suit. The jacket has also been seen in women's wardrobes, and has been worn in a formal way by layering it over an evening dress. Women also wear it over jeans or even a skirt.
