All textiles that are imported to the U.S. have to comply with a range of regulations. Affordable labor and product availability

Companies importing from China often do so because of the significantly low costs of both labor and production in the country. China has one of the largest labor class populations in the world thanks to being home to over 1.3 billion people. As such, wages tend to stay low in the country because the market favors employers.       There are no rules regarding fumigation of textiles. However, textiles have many other requirements that they have to meet including flammability guidelines in place through the CPSC.
