Two primary fashion consulting professions often get confused: image consultants and stylists. Although they may seem similar, they have very different roles and responsibilities.
Image Consultants
An image consultant advises on personal appearance, behavior, and communication skills. Their primary focus is on helping clients improve their professional and personal image. They work with individuals and corporations to help them project the right image and make a positive impression on others.
Image consultants use various techniques to help clients achieve their goals, including personal shopping, wardrobe analysis, and color analysis. They also advise on hair and makeup and offer guidance on body language and communication skills.
Stylists
A stylist is a professional who focuses on fashion and personal style. They work with clients to create outfits that suit their body shape, personality, and lifestyle. They also advise on hair and makeup, but their primary focus is fashion.
Stylists work with clients on a one-to-one basis, helping them to choose outfits for special events, photo shoots, or everyday wear. They may also work with celebrities, designing costumes for red-carpet events or music videos.
What are the differences between Image Consultants and Stylists?
The primary difference between image consultants and stylists is their focus. Image consultants focus on creating a professional and polished image, while stylists concentrate on fashion and personal style.
