Calling all denim lovers!: If you love wearing denim as much as I do then you’ve come to the right place! In today’s blog post and YouTube video, I’m sharing THE HOTTEST DENIM TRENDS OF 2022, and trust me when I say there are some amazing trends for sure! When it comes it trends I always say only wear the ones you feel most comfortable in and most importantly if there is ever a trend that you don’t love or one that doesn’t look great on you then by all means skip it. The last denim trend I’ve listed below is one that I will most certainly be skipping in 2022 because it just doesn’t look great on me and I’m ok with that. For the TOP 9 DENIM TRENDS OF 2022 featured in 8 different looks keep scrolling and soak up some serious denim outfit inspiration!

RIPPED JEANS:
Yes, ripped jeans are still on trend for 2022! If you’re wondering if you’re too old to wear ripped jeans, ask yourself this: how do you FEEL when you wear ripped denim? If the answer is good and confident then, by all means, ROCK em! These are called Agolde FEN jeans – a high-waisted straight leg with a tapered ankle so they’re very slimming. They run TTS, I’m wearing a size 24 for size reference.

STRAIGHT-LEG DENIM:
If you only add one pair of denim to your denim collection in 2022, let it be a pair of straight leg denim. They may have a 90’s vibe but you will see this style ALL over this year, straight leg denim gives your legs a smooth line silhouette which has a fabulous slimming effect! Because of the combination of the straight leg and the high waist, these RIDER Jeans by Mother are my absolute FAVORITE style of straight-leg denim. The medium vinatge wash is super versatile, I’m wearing a 24 for size reference, trust me you will LIVE in these jeans!

FADED BLACK DENIM:
I am in love with this shade of denim because it lends an edgy and chic vibe to any look. Pair it with a vintage tee, some black booties and chunky jewelry and you have a fashion forward look to bring a little attitude to 2022! These A&F jeans have just the right amount of distressing in my opinion, are comfortable with a little bit of stretch and are a STEAL for under $100! I’m in a 24 for size reference.

FLARE JEANS:
I honestly find that flare in the boot cut jean is the most flattering denim of all the silhouettes, because it has the LONGEST silhouette! The secret is to have your flares hit about a 1/4″ off the ground, creating an insanely long line from your belly button, right to the ground! This will make your legs look CRAZY long and it works for almost any body type! I especially love the slit up the ankle of these Anine Bing jeans, tastefully sexy and it gives a unique edge to the outfit. I’m wearing a size 25 for size reference.

BAGGY DENIM:
Baggy denim is sticking around for 2022, and I am trilled that I’ve found the trick to rocking this look! The key to wearing baggy denim is to wear a heel and a fitted top so the jeans don’t end up overtaking your silhouette. Another trick is to size down in the baggy fit and have the hem adjusted to hit right at your ankle bone for the perfect silhoutte. I love these jeans by Ksubi, even though they’re baggy, they have a slimming effect because of the ultra-high waist! These are the perfect jeans to tiptoe into this trend if you haven’t taken the plunge already! I’m wearing a size 25 for size reference.

DARK WASH DENIM:
Dark wash denim is a trend I haven’t really jumped on before, but after discovering these gorgeous Goldsign jeans, I was won over and decided to give it a try! They are incredibly slimming jeans because of the dark blue wash and uber high-waist, more of a modern feel and not really vintage inspired. These would be a great choice if you don’t love wearing ripped jeans! I’m sporting a size 24 for size reference.

LOW-RISE DENIM (SWAPPING FOR VINTAGE INSPIRED DENIM WITH SLITS UP THE ANKLE):
Okay, the denim trend I WON’T be wearing in 2022 is low rise denim – why? – it makes my legs look short and I just don’t find it flattering! Although you will find low rise denim in the top denim trends of 2022, I’ll be skipping this one and swapping it for these insanely flattering vintage inspired flares with a really cool slit up the side of the ankle. I am in love with the light wash and the raw edge hem. I’m wearing a 24 for size reference. If YOU decide to embrace the low rise denim trend, I’ll be cheering you on!
