The owner of Talbots and Hot Topic has agreed to purchase Ann Taylor, Loft and Lane Bryant (1)

Ann Taylor, Loft, Lane Bryant and Lou & Grey now have a new owner.

The Ascena Retail Group has entered into an asset purchase agreement with Premium Apparel LLC, an affiliate of Sycamore Partners, a private equity firm to sell the four retail brands for $540 million. The transaction is expected to be completed by the middle of this month.

Ascena Retail Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July and previously sold the intellectual property assets and e-commerce business of Catherines’ to Full Beauty Brands Operations. Catherines’ had previously closed all of its stores. Justice Brand Holdings LLC, an entity formed by Bluestar Alliance LLC, has completed the acquisition of the intellectual property of the retailer, Justice from the Ascena Retail Group. Ascena also previously owned the DressBarn and closed all of its stores last year.

Sycamore Partners is a private equity firm based in New York, which owns a number of retailers including Belk, Hot Topic, Staples, Talbots and Torrid.
