How To Download And Install Pose Mods

There are a few pose mods you can choose from for The Sims 4, but Pose Player from Andrew's Studio is the most popular. Click the link to download the file, which is a zip file. Drag the zip file to your Mods folder.

The Mods folder for Sims 4 can be found under Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4 > Mods.

The file will then need to be unzipped to work properly. On PC, right-click on the folder and chooseExtract Here, then Extract again. On Mac, you can double-click on the zip file to extract it.

Inside the folder is a ts4script file and PACKAGE file, and these are what need to be in your Mods folder.

Downloading Pose Packs

You will also need to download poses for your Sims to use. Andrew's Studio recommends grabbing some from the Sims4Studios forums, but these can be downloaded from anywhere. They will be labeled as pose packs, which are also all PACKAGE files.

Pose packs often contain multiple poses in the same category. This gives you a wide variety of poses to choose from, from romantic to angry poses.

This mod isn't necessary for using Pose Player, but is needed if you're posing more than one Sim. You can also download this from Andrew's Studio, simply scroll down the page until you find Teleport Any Sim.

This mod lets you teleport Sims to locations to make sure they align correctly for poses and is especially helpful when posing more than one Sim at a time.

Downloading and installing this mod is identical to downloading Pose Player. Download the file, move the zip into your Mods folder, and extract the files so the ts4script and PACKAGE files are in your Mods folder.

How To Use Pose Mods

Once you have the Pose Player in your game, load up The Sims 4 and choose any world. Click on the Sim you'd like to have posed.

When you click on that Sim, two options will pop up: Pose by Pack and Pose by Name. Pose by Pack allows you to choose from any of the poses you've downloaded by selecting them from a list. Pose by Name lets you type in the name of a pose to choose.

Once you've chosen a pose, the Sim will then hold that pose. This will be in the exact spot they were standing when the action was queued up. Move them if you want them to pose somewhere else.

Take any pictures, videos, or screenshots you'd like while they're posing.

The Sim will stay in the pose until you click on them again and choose Stop Posing, or canceling the pose in the action queue.

If the Pose Player isn't appearing during gameplay, make sure you have mods enabled by going into options, then game options, then other, and making sure the Enable Custom Content and Mods box is checked.

How To Pose Two Or More Sims

Some poses and pose packs let you pose two or more Sims. To pose two or more Sims, it's similar to posing one Sim. However, you will need to use the Teleport Any Sim mod.

Set Up Teleporter

Go into Buy Mode and find the Sim Teleporter Destination object under Decorations > Misc. It will appear as a white knight statue. Place two or more of them on top of each other in the same spot. Use as many teleporters as there are Sims in the pose.

Back in Live Mode, click on the Sim Teleporter Destination and choose Teleport a Sim Here. Select the Sim you want in the pose. Repeat this with the other Sims you want to pose.

You can also select Summon a Sim to here if they are not currently on the lot.

After teleporting a Sim to a location, the object will disappear. They cost zero Simoleons, though, so you can place as many as you need.

Once all Sims are in the same spot, simply choose Pose by Pack and select the poses.

Sims have to be standing in the exact same spot when they begin posing together, or else the pose will not look correct. They will be spaced too far apart. This is why it's recommended to use the Teleport Any Sim mod object.

With poses that have more than one Sim, they will have the pose name and then be labeled "Sim 1" and "Sim 2", or something similar. For example, "Set 04 - Girl" and "Set 04 - Boy". This lets you choose which Sim will be in which position of the pose.

These Sims will once again hold the pose until you select Stop Posing or cancel the pose in the action queue.
