Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are currently on their first ever joint royal tour in Australia, and naturally we have been lusting over every single item of clothing Meghan has worn.
On day three of their tour, Meghan and Harry visited a beach in Melbourne to help with a clean-up and Meghan looked just as glam as ever.
Wearing a black Club Monaco dress with gold buttons and her trusty beige mac, Meghan looked more put together for her day at the beach, than we look when we rock up to work.
The only thing troubling us though, was her choice of footwear. Sure Meghan switched her normal heels for a pair of black pointed flats, but who would wear a pair of £79 shoes on the beach?
I think we can all agree that sand is the worst, like glitter, on account of the fact that it gets everywhere.
Not to mention that walking on sand is one of the most arduous tasks known to man (I haven't done much manual labour in my life to be fair), which is why you remove your shoes, or throw on a pair of flip flops, as soon as you hit the white stuff.
However, for Meghan, the downside of marrying Prince Harry and becoming a duch*ess, is that she just can't do that anymore.
As etiquette expert William Hanson explained to Harper's Bazaar, "open-toed shoes are considered informal footwear and inappropriate for formal occasions".
While you could argue that a beach clean is hardly a formal occasion, a royal tour is about as formal as you can get. And hey, Harry had to stick to the rules too.
Who said being a royal was easy?
