Time travel penalty[]

  • Players cannot get donations at the Fountain.
  • The shops and markets won't restock with new items.
  • Seasonal items disappearfrom the "Seasonal" tab. (Players will still be able to buy the seasonal items in the "In Stock" tab if they already bought it.)
  • If using the system clock to change the time, it may mess up other real-time games (such as Animal Crossing) that do not want to be affected.

Trivia[]

  • Time traveling can be considered cheating, so the cooldown time for items and such to work is probably so the feature of changing the time isn't abused by the Player.
  • The term time traveling is also very common in the Animal Crossing community.
  • Changing the in-game time up to about an hour and a half does not incur a penalty. It is also safe after doing this to revert back to the original time. This is handy if the player forgets an event or for waking up Miis in their homes. However, changing the time by two hours or more will result in the usual penalty.

Is time travelling possible? ›

So far, what we can say with confidence is that travelling into the future is achievable, but travelling into the past is either wildly difficult or absolutely impossible. Let's start with Albert Einstein's theories of relativity, which set out a description of space, time, mass and gravity.

According to Stephen Hawking, time travel is possible, and not just in the way we might think. Backward time travel is not supported by Hawking's theories, because new matter (a new you) would need to be created – one existing in the past and one in the present, traveling back in time.
