Tom Daley has finally answered that question we've all wanted to the answer to - why does he wear such small speedos?

The Olympic diver, who has become just as well known for his briefsas he has for his diving, has opened-up for the reasoning behind his snug pool attire ...and it's very practical, apparently.

"They have to be small because everything has to stay in place," he revealed on The Graham Norton Show, due to air this evening (May 20).

"If you're spinning around the last thing, you want to do is have something come out of place! And when you hit the water you don't want things flapping about because it would hurt."

Daley, who turns 22 on Saturday,also revealed more about his current training routine for the upcoming Rio Olympics, revealing: "I am back to training six hours a day, six days a week.

"It is terrifying that you train for four years just for that one moment. You get six dives and if you mess one up, it's all over. It's a pretty cutthroat thing."
