What are the rules for transmogrification? ›

Items must share the same armor type (examples: plate for plate, cloth for cloth). Weapons must be the same weapon type (exceptions: Guns, Crossbows, or Bows). Guns, Crossbows, and Bows can be used to transmogrify Guns, Crossbows, or Bows.

Transmogrification has a number of restrictions, and not all items or pairings can be transmogged. Most importantly, the character must be able to equip both items, armor must be of the same armor type, and weapons must use the same attack style.

Mouse over the equipped item and check if it says "This item cannot be transmogrified". By design, some items can't receive an appearance. Verify your character is eligible to apply the appearance you selected. Some appearances have some requirements before you can use them.

Legendary weapons are treasured and fabled armaments that have been highly sought out by players since the game's earliest days. While the purpose and function of the weapons has changed over the years, players may now use their favorite legendary weapon(s) in the form of transmog.

It works similarly to the Copy/Extend Game feature, but you can use it to add objects to in-progress games. To use the Transmogrifier, just click the "Transmogrifier" button under the Experimental Features section of the My Settings tab on the right sidebar (the "gear" icon).

Use consumable Transmog Tokens at Transmog Stations to capture the appearance of any item in your inventory. Once an appearance has been captured, it is permanently available as a skin. The captured skin will then appear as an item that can be applied to another skin in the change skin menu.
