Wearing pants 2 days in a row. Comments?
My parents told me to not wash my jeans/khakis after wearing it for 1 day during the Winter season. Because there won't be a lot of sweat. I try not to wear the same pants/khakis to work 2 days in a row otherwise my colleague may think I am dirty or cheap.
Comments? Do you think it's necessary to wash your pants/jeans/khakis/dress pants daily in the FALL/WINTER season? (I'm not talking about underwear, t-shirts, or socks)
What do you think about your colleague if she/he wore the same pants/khakis/dress pants to work 2 days in a row?
I usually try to wear pants #1 on Monday. Then I wear pants #2 on Tuesday. Then Wednesday I will wear pants #1 again. Comments?
Thanks

I've been wearing my raw denims since June. To be honest, no one notices (or they do not comment) that I'm wearing the same pair of jeans everyday. Maybe its just psychological that you think people judge you for being cheap if you don't switch your pants everyday. Unless your colleagues are the type that judge you on what you wear on a daily basis, then switch up.

I've notice people who wear the same shirt or tie two days in a row. Pants are less distinctive, but I might notice if I was working closely with you or were noticeable in some way (didn't fit, clashed with something, etc).
But certainly don't feel bad about not washing them, if you are wearing wool pants you usually go long time between dry cleanings.
EDIT: And I definitely notice if people wear the same jeans twice in a row.

i wear jeans for 5 days in a row during fall & winter. i have weekend jeans that i wear for a couple of weeks.
i don't really care about what others think. If you judge me, you judge my laziness to wash.
I don't do sports, nor sweat a lot. I have damn good jeans. i'm attractive nonetheless.
during summer, maybe once every few days.

You don't necessarily have to wear them back to back to avoid washing... just have a rotation. Wear a pair today, wear a different one tomorrow and go back to the other one before you wash it. I have a rotation of raw denim that I go through and none of them smell regardless of how long I've worn them.

lololol everyone talkign about Raw denim.
If you're talking about PANTS, KHAKIS, CHINOS, which are more perceptible to dirt and creases, espeically in the winter season and working in a office enviornment probably require you to keep a clean look. There's nothing wrong with wearing the same pants for two consecutive days in a row as long as they look clean. I would switch up my attire if you do wear the same pants for the second day (change shirt, tie, etc.), but really there's nothing wrong and I don't think your colleague would care as long as they are clean.
As for jeans, just wear them for however long you want it as long as they don't smell.

Watch out for salt stains on the bottom of your pants, thats a dead giveaway. Use febreeze if they smell bad.

As a seasoned fashion and clothing enthusiast with a deep understanding of garment care and style norms, I can confidently address the concerns raised in the discussion regarding wearing pants for multiple days in a row. The thread from October 12th, 2009, touches upon a common dilemma many individuals face during the Fall and Winter seasons.
Firstly, the idea of not washing jeans or khakis after a single day of wear is not uncommon. This practice is often recommended during colder seasons when there is less perspiration, and garments may not accumulate as much sweat or odor. The argument put forth by the original poster's parents aligns with the notion that jeans and khakis can be worn for consecutive days without washing during the Winter season.
The conversation delves into the social aspects of repeating pants in a professional setting. While some express concerns about colleagues perceiving them as dirty or cheap, others share personal experiences of wearing the same pair of jeans daily without receiving negative comments. It's evident that the perception of repeated outfits varies among individuals, and not everyone pays close attention to their peers' clothing choices.
Several contributors emphasize the importance of cleanliness and aesthetic considerations. Some differentiate between items like shirts and pants, suggesting that pants can be worn for an extended period unless visibly soiled. Raw denim enthusiasts, in particular, share experiences of wearing the same pair for months without drawing attention.
The discussion also touches on the significance of rotating between different pairs of pants to maintain a polished appearance. A consensus emerges that as long as the pants look clean and well-maintained, wearing them for two consecutive days is generally acceptable.
Additionally, practical tips are offered, such as watching out for salt stains on the bottom of pants and using products like Febreze to refresh garments without washing them.
In conclusion, the thread reflects a diverse range of opinions on the subject, highlighting that personal preferences, workplace culture, and individual hygiene standards play a significant role in determining whether wearing pants for two days in a row is socially acceptable.
