Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer for many around the country and that rings true for our family here in New England. At the end of the school year, I always order some new summer gear for everyone in my family. The Land’s End catalog arrived a week ago and completely won me over with the items offered on its pages.
I grew up with Land’s End in the Midwest. In high school, I had a teacher that took us to tour the headquarters and factory in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. As an adult, we would vacation at a cabin in Wisconsin and Land’s End was just in the next town over. It became our stop on the way home to snag summer sale items and new apparel for fall. If we were there in August, we’d plan on the huge tent sale to snag bargins. It has always been a staple brand for me. Our boys’ school uniforms are always bought there and over the years they have stuck to their true preppy style with coastal influences.
Land’s End is also a great brand for all shapes and sizes. They have extensive offerings for Tall, Plus Size, and Slim or Husky kids. Being quite tall myself, I always find that their apparel has a great tall sizing and a tailored fit. I always feel confident ordering online because I know the quality and fit will be right.
That brings me to another point. They still produce and send out a good catalog. I look forward to getting them in the mail and this last one was coastal summer perfection! It grabbed my attention and I love how they mixed the swimwear with apparel pieces. It gave me so many good ideas for my own summer wardrobe.
So here’s a sampling of what caught my eye and what I ended up ordering for myself. I ordered for the boys’ too and I’ll include those in the links.
The swimwear this year is SO GOOD! I ended up ordering 3 suits that I can mix and match the tops and bottoms. That seersucker one was an instant love. The bottom to it is sold out right now, but if it gets restocked I’ll let you know. They offer bra sizing on the tops and that is so great. Here are the pieces I ordered to mix and match. I can even mix a couple with tops and bottoms I already have.
This is what I ordered for the boys. They have the original Sperry boat shoes on their site too. I just love that chilled blue scenic island print and Topher did as well so he opted for the swim trunks.
I am considering ordering some new beach towels and I’ve been eyeing these beach chairs for the summer. We have that chilled cooler tote and it is wonderful! I highly recommend!!
I ordered some essentials for the boys. They just needed some new tees and chino shorts. Basic stuff. I couldn’t pass up some of the cute print options for myself, so here is what I ordered. Oh, and you can get your polo monogrammed with your initials and I opted for that too with the athletic font. I think they offer monogramming on almost anything there…you can even get lighthouses and a little fox monogram, things like that. So many monogramming options!
Honestly, what really sold me on the clothing was seeing it styled with the swimwear in the catalog. Catalogs are so valuable for that and you can get a better look at the fabric that way too. Look how cute that chilled blue scenic print is with the seersucker suit.
