Amazon is aware some customers may feel this way when they stumble upon a new dress or a new pair of dress shoes, which is why they have a feature called Prime Try Before You Buy.What is Prime Try Before You Buy?This feature from Amazon allows customers to be able to “purchase” a piece of clothing and try it out to see if it's something they would be interested in wearing or if it turns out they are not interested in the item. If you are an avid Amazon shopper, you may have known this program by a different name: Prime Wardrobe. Amazon decided to change the name to “help everyone quickly understand what the program offers.” The catch? You have to be an Amazon Prime member in order to take part in the try before you buy program on eligible items. How does Prime Try Before You Buy Work?Here are the steps as detailed on Amazon’s website.A Prime customer searches for eligible items for women, men, kids and babies across clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories. The customer can select up to six items to add to the cart, free of charge, and have those items shipped to their destination. Once the items are delivered, the customer has a seven-day try-on period. The try-on period is solely for at-home use, according to Amazon’s website. “Do not wear the clothes out unless you intend to purchase them,” Amazon’s website states. “Items must be returned with tags on and in their original packaging, including: hangers, polybags, shoe boxes, dust bags, and gift boxes.” During the seven-day try-on period, the customer can decide if they want to keep what they’ve tried on, or if they want to return some or all the items they initially chose. The customer will return to Amazon’s website and check out the items they want and then return the items they don’t want in a resealable box that has a prepaid shipping label. The customer will only be charged for what they keep. Are there special discounts with Prime Try Before You Buy?Actually, there is! According to Amazon, special offers can be extended to Prime Try Before You Buy customers. “If we are running a Prime Try Before You Buy promotion, but there is a better Amazon promotion available at the time of your initial order placement or at checkout, you will receive the better discount,” Amazon states on their website. In addition, other Amazon promotions relevant to the items in your cart at the time of the initial order placement will be honored.
