An Answer to a Hemline Question
By
Q:What is the appropriate dress length for a middle-aged (55) woman?
I purchased an Elizabeth and James silk-charmeuse shift dress with large fluted sleeves that I wear exclusively to weddings. I love this dress but am conscious that the length falls an inch above my knees and a bit higher in the back. I wear it with high-heeled sandals to take advantage of my legs and the fluidity of the dress but I am wondering if this dress is age appropriate. I live in Northern California, where, I believe, fashion is less constricted.
