As part of being the founder of En Route to Rêverie, I offer my clients the option of receiving helpful tips on what to have in their suitcases for any trip to Paris, but I also enjoy curating packing lists for Paris to share with wit & whimsy readers alongside outfit inspiration.

Curious about what to wear in Paris for the Spring? I’ve got you covered on how to dress for your springtime trip to the city of lights.

Floral Dresses

I love bringing floral dresses along for any warmer days. Consider a long sleeve dress for cooler days! Add a fun belt to mix it up or to add a blazer or jacket over a dress with a cinched waist.

My floral dresses are usually the one pop of color / non-neutral in my bag for Spring and Summer.

Jeans

Skinny jeans, straight jeans, dark jeans, white jeans – no matter what kind of jeans you prefer, I recommend bringing a pair of jeans as a great base for many of your outfits in Paris during spring.

My favorite jeans brand for Paris trips is Agolde.

White Sneakers

I am never without my favorite white sneakers for days where I plan to walk a lot in Paris. Remember that a lot of Paris is made up of cobblestone streets so you’ll want comfortable walking shoes.

Ballet Flats

Ballet flats are one of my go-to shoes for comfortable walking shoes in Paris during the spring. Leave the flip flops at home and instead opt for a ballet flat.

If you’re looking for an affordable lookalike to my Chanel Ballet Flats, I can recommend this pair here.

Black Dress

A black dress is my go-to for dressier evenings in Paris. I share a lot of ideas of what to wear in Paris at night in myWhat to Wear in Paris at Night guide.

Trench Coat

I always bring a trench coat to Paris in the spring. It’s the perfect lightweight coat that works both day and nighttime.

And when you pack your trench coat don’t forget to pack a travel umbrella. Rain during a trip to Paris is usually a matter of when not if! You could also consider a trench coat with a hood if you’d prefer.

Trousers

Trousers are comfortable and versatile and therefore I often bring at least one pair with me to Paris year round. Paris in Spring can be unpredictable for weather and if you’re trying to pack light, trousers can be a wonderful option to make work hard for you. For daytime pair them with sneakers and for evening opt for a ballet flat or block heel.

If you don’t like a wideleg trouser, opt for a more tailored ankle pant.

Stripes

Stripes are always in my suitcase for Spring! It may be a stripe long sleeve tee or it may be a stripe sweater but either way they are timeless and a great way to add visual interest to your outfit. I also particularly love how stripes pair under my spring jacket of choice – the trench coat.

You can shop some of my favorite striped sweaters in myLa Ligne Sweaters Review. And the sweater I am wearing above can be found in mySezane Essentials guide.

Tweed Jackets

I always have tweed blazers or cropped textured jackets in my suitcase for spring trips to Paris before the heat arrives. They easily translate from day to nighttime and can be worn casually or more dressed up with the right pair of heels.

Lightweight Knits

I tend to wear a thicker knit on the plane both to stay warm and in case a cold snap in the Spring hits and I need a thicker layer. But then I pack my suitcase full of lightweight knits like cashmere t-shirts and alpaca blend sweaters.

What Jacket To Wear in Paris in Spring?

Spring weather in Paris can sometimes serve up several seasons in one day so it is important to carefully track the weather report before you leave. You may have your heart set on a trench coat but if you check the weather and it says it is largely going to be in the 40s you may want to consider a wool coat instead.

For spring dresses in Paris I usually do a classic camel trench coat and also a leather jacket for evenings. I may layer the trench over the leather jacket or a cropped tweed jacket if I need a bit of added warmth.

I also always travel on every plane with a cashmere wrap that doubles as a scarf. If my jacket of choice proves not warm enough this is the perfect added layer of warmth I usually need to be comfortable.
