When is Fashion Week?

Short answer: fashion week generally refers to the womenswear shows that happen twice per year (February and September) in the “Big 4” fashion capitals of New York, London, Milan, and Paris (in that order).

But there are also menswear shows, “resort” shows, and haute couture shows in Paris, and these happen at different times during the year. There are also now many, many international fashion weeks. So nowadays, you might say, “it’s always fashion week somewhere.”

The naming of the seasons is also something that’s become a bit complicated. Originally, the shows were previews of collections that would hit stores six months later.

As a result, the shows were named after the season to come. For example, February would show “fall collections,” and September would show “spring collections.”

But as consumers have increasingly begun wanting to buy things from the runway right away, “in-season collections” have started to make an appearance. So these days, you might actually see winter clothing on the runway in September.

Even the traditional separation between men’s and women’s fashion collections has become blurred, with both men and women appearing in the same runway show during the time traditionally referred to as “women’s fashion week.”

The brand was created in 2019 in Paris and its 001 collection has been released in March 2021 during Paris Fashion Week. 022397BLUFF has its unique universe, in which there is neither fixed time or space, nor gender or age. The brand is an avant-garde style for unisex. The brand’s DNA is a unique interpretation of Chinese Miao minority culture and the transformation of Miao embroidery elements into visual fashion pieces. The designer draws its inspirations from his childhood memory and imagines a new subculture – the “Miao Punk” style.

This February, Rise NYFW, formally invites you to our bi-annual showcase featuring signature collections of more than 20 fashion designers across the region. This event will feature two shows at 3:00 pm & 6:00 pm on February 10th, 2023, and is located on the 17th floor of the Studio Arte building at 265 W 37th Street, New York, NY. Reserved seating will be assigned.

Rise NYFW was created in 2017 to give independent fashion designers an opportunity to showcase their collections to a global audience of press, stylists, retailers, and industry influencers. Break Free NYFW is an immersive runway experience of art, design, fashion, and social issues. The show will be held during New York Fashion Week on Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at 5 pm ET.

Leading the discussion on mental health, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders within the fashion industry, Break Free NYFW is a runway show with a cause. We have invited mental health and recovery rights activists to not only walk in this show as models but to be featured designers showcasing their collections to immerse the audience within their brands’ core mission of shining a light on this pressing issue.

All proceeds from this showcase will go towards the Break Free Foundation’s scholarship fund, which is partnered with the nonprofit organization 10,000 Beds, to provide scholarships for those seeking treatment for a substance use disorder through attending a rehabilitation center.

To show solidarity with new designers, SFW Runway has partnered with an emerging designer with a construction background, Ron Dyce, to produce a NYFW show. America’s Next Top Model runner-up is expected to host the exclusive event with music provided by DJ Barry Blends. Early access to tickets are available.

This is Ron Dyce’s first solo NYFW show. He is expected to debut spring, summer, fall & winter during NYC Fashion Week, making Dyce one of the only designers to present all collections at one show. According to the event details, Ron Dyce is expected to debut a record number of 50+ looks during a high-end luxury show.
