For the children of Patrizia Reggiani, they essentially lost both their parents after Maurizio Gucci was shot in front of his Milan office in 1995 and Reggiani was sent to prison for orchestrating the shooting in 1998.

The much-anticipated feature film“House of Gucci,” which hits American theaters on Thanksgiving week, depicts the marriage between Reggiani and the former head of the Gucci fashion house in the lead-up up his much publicized slaying. Reggiani was convicted in 1998 for setting up Gucci’s murder and subsequently sentenced to 29 years in prison.

While their relationship ended in tragedy, the doomed couple did share two daughters together: Allegra and Alessandra.

While both in their twenties, the two daughters campaigned for a retrial for their mother, insisting that Reggiani was not in a healthy state of mind at the time of the murder.While a retrial did not occur, the efforts resulted in a reduction of the former socialite's sentence: from 29 years to 26. She was released in 2016 early on good behavior.

That year, Reggiani expressed in aGuardian interview that her daughters were no longer speaking to her.

"We are going through a bad time now," she said. "They don't understand me and have cut off my financial support. I have nothing, and I haven't even met my two grandsons."

Allegra and Alessandra reportedly inherited three Gucci family residences and a yacht named Creole. The siblings, whose financial worth has been valued at around$400 million,have been living primarily private lives in recent years. Allegra has apparently been racing her father’s boats and, in an interview with Classic Boat, said, “My father would be so happy to see the boats now and how his philosophy of them is continuing.” Alessandra has done some work in fashion, and was celebrated in a 2009 article for creating handbags as an homage to three generations of the Gucci family.

The sisters also apparently took their mom to court to try to prevent her from getting annuity from Maurizio’s estate, the Editorialist reports. Patrizia won, however and now apparently receives $1.47 million a year from the Gucci estate.
