Both these materials have unique properties. EVA(ethylene-vinyl acetate) has rubber-like properties but tends to be softer than rubber, which means lesser padding and more flexibility.

Rubber on the other hand provides better traction and does not deform easily and is quite stiff and sturdy.

In the end it all comes down to one thing- QUALITY. Because each manufacturer uses his own formula, as you change the proportions for the mixture, the properties change as well.

Rubber is the best material for shoes. Tpr closely follows next. Rubber soles are expensive because they are made by compression moulding and takes atleast 5 times the time required by tpr soles . Tpr sole are made by injection moulding. Also cost of raw material of rubber is also twice than that of tpr. Hence rubber sole are used very less in shoes.

There are 3 kinds of soles for shoes, out sole, middle sole, insole.

As for out sole, rubber and TPR, which one is better? It’s up to the manufacturing requirement and usage. On average, the cost of rubber is more expensive than TPR. Rubber sole has higher wearing resistance too.

In fact, TPR is a kind of thermoplastic rubber, says synthetic rubber. It is common used for kids shoes and fashion shoes.

Because of TPR is synthetic, it can be recycle, also eco-friendly. And rubber is not. Hope it will help you.
