Since pockets for women are already a conflicting topic (we barely ever get any!), pockets in women's jeans are significantly different compared to men's. Women's jeans have smaller pockets than those designed for men. But why?
So, what causes the change in size of the pockets of men and women? Let's find out!
Emily Keller, a fashion designer, who has worked in the clothing industry for almost ten years, has finally revealed why.
Men's jeans pockets can fit cell phones, wallets and keys, whereas women's jeans pockets are sometimes too small to even fit a coin properly.

Keller took to social media site Quora to reveal that there are three possible reasons why women's jeans have smaller pockets -
The first reason could be that it is a way of saving. While maintaining small pocket sizes, clothing companies can make a lot of money.The brand does not make pockets in women’s jeans as a result of this.
The second reason could be due to the ever-changing fashion trends. According to Keller, today's women's jeans are meant to fit the body and the designer explained that if you add bigger pockets, the layers will show and ruin the look.
The third reason, according to Keller, is that if the pocket is tucked into women's jeans, the area there will stretch. Due to this, the pocket size remains small.
However, Keller clarified that the major reason is that this is done for cost cutting.
Pockets for women's clothing has been a long conversation for a long time. From memes to women complaining about loving dresses with pockets, it is a common topic. Some believe that women's clothing has smaller or no pockets due to the simple fact that brands want to encourage the sale of handbags to earn more money. So, in order to ensure women choose a handbag as an accessory as well as a necessity, they add useless pockets in their clothing.
