Jennifer Aniston, a lover of sand and sea, recently launched a brand new fragrance to join her already-impressive collection of scents. The creator of Jennifer Aniston, J by Jennifer Aniston, and Near Dusk has now given us Beachscape.
"I do love to spend time on the beach, that's for sure," Aniston admits via email. She loves it so much that Beachscape isn't even her first scent to draw on the smells of the ocean. No one loves the beach more than Aniston does. Proof! Aniston once described Jennifer Aniston as "the smell of summertime, and the ocean, and sun tan lotion." She said in an interview with People that J by Jennifer Aniston reminded her of "a day spent at the ocean." And she shared that Near Dusk was meant to evoke "the beach at twilight" on HollywoodLife.com. What have you done for the beach lately?
But we wanted to know what sets Beachscape apart from the rest—what kind of woman wears it? Which beaches are her favorite? And on a somewhat related note, what does Justin Theroux smell like? We asked the hard questions. This is what we found out.
What kind of woman do you envision wearing 'Beachscape'?
My hope is that all women feel comfortable, confident, and serene wearing it. Beachscape is a clean, fresh fragrance that I think will complement any woman's natural scent.
You spend a lot of time on the beach. What does an ideal day by the water look like?
I do love to spend time on the beach, that's for sure. Ideally, it's usually low-key–hopefully in Mexico–where we might have lunch overlooking the beach and then in the afternoon just spending some time on the sand, enjoying the view of the water.
What was the first scent you remember wearing that made you feel like a grown up?
Anais Anais. It was my go-to as a teenager.
What scents remind you of your childhood?
City smells. New York smells. Not always the most appealing, but it's what I grew up around.
How do you pack a carry-on bag for a beach getaway?
Easy: Aveeno sunscreen, towels, and plenty of Smartwater. A good book, too!
Do you wear perfume when you work out?
No, definitely not–I'd sweat it right off!
Besides the new scent, what's the best new addition to your beauty routine?
Honestly, I keep my beauty routine simple. I don't like to change what seems to work for me.
Would you ever make a fragrance for men? And if you had to make a custom scent for Justin, what notes would you make sure to include in it?
I'm a fan of the natural smell on men. But if I had to choose, I would include sandalwood. It's the closest to his own personal scent.
What's the last fashion or makeup risk you took a gamble on that really paid off?
I wish I took more risks with makeup and fashion but I tend to stick to fashion that has a simple silhouette and my makeup doesn't really take too many risks.
