Shredded memory foam is more breathable than traditional memory foam. Traditional memory foam is not very breathable. A single piece of dense foam doesn't allow air to circulate freely so it will absorb and retain the warm humid air generated by your body.

When the foam is mixed with Ultrabeads in a bean bag, it acts as a buffer in between beads, reducing its rate of compression. In other words, filling your bean bags with foam plus beans prolongs the span of time before you have to top up your loungers or pet beds.

Polystyrene is a plastic formed from hydrocarbon molecules that's small, lightweight and ideal for a variety of applications. From stuffed toys to packaging materials to insulation sheets, these beads can be used for all sorts – not just bean bag filler!

Something to fill them with - I prefer to use weighted poly beads and stuffing. That way they are softer if they happen to end up aimed at a face, wont go mouldy if they get a little damp inside and are machine washable, but you could use rice, lentils, or popping corn instead.

To fill your bean bags with as less spillage as possible, we recommend creating a funnel with a piece of cupboard to help funnel the beans into your bean bag cover. Cut the corner of the bag of beans (not the whole top) otherwise you are asking for spillage.

The foam will already be encased in the inner liner. Leave the foam inside the inner liner. Use your hands to break apart the brick of foam. The more you break apart the foam, the fuller your sack will get.
