“Ionly wore that T-shirt once, Ican definitely re-wear itagain!” Most ofus are guilty ofgiving our clothes asniff test and wearing them day after day. But even ifyour clothes smell fine, they are covered insweat and bacteria, and ifyou don’t change them onadaily basis, itmay lead tosome unpleasant consequences.

1. Itmay cause body acne.

Doing laundry every day seems exhausting, but ifyou’ve been struggling with pimples onyour back orchest, you might want toconsider changing your clothes daily. Dirty clothes collect sweat and bacteria that are transferred into any hair-bearing area onyour body, causing clogged pores. Sweat combined with dead skin cells can cause irritation and lead toacne onpretty much any part ofyour body, including your back, thighs, and even buttocks.

2. Itmight lead tounpleasant body odor.

Ifyou want topush your laundry day off for aslong aspossible, wetotally getit. But your clothes are coming into contact with less-than-fresh scents, such asarmpit sweat. Germs and bacteria love sweat, and the combination ofthe 2leads tounpleasant body odor.

3. You might beexposing yourself toother people’s germs.

It’s one thing tobeexposed toyour own body oils and bacteria all day, but it’s atotally different thing tobeenveloped inother people’s bacteria. Weall have bacteria onour skin, and most germs that end uponour clothes come from our own bodies. But it’s also possible topick upgerms onyour clothes from other people, and although they are often harmless, some ofthem can cause infection, especially ifyou have skin problems.

4. Itmay give you arash.

Ifyou’ve ever noticed anitchy rash onyour skin, this may give you the motivation tochange your clothes more often. Clothing isinclose contact with your skin, and ifdirty clothes are rubbing againstit, the oils and bacteria trapped inthe fabric may cause skin irritation. Although any kind offiber may irritate your skin, clothes made with synthetics feel more coarse onthe skin because they don’t breathe aswell asnatural fibers.

How often doyou change your clothes? What’s the longest you’ve gone without washing your clothes?
