The largest Zara store in the world can be found at number 79 Paseo de la Castellana, in Madrid. The 6,000m2, building is currently applying for the environmental accreditation LEEDTM in the Gold category and consumes an impressive 20% less electricity and 45% less water than conventional stores.

We worked with Inditex to develop a store full of eco-efficient technologies, from low-energy consumption lighting through to CO2 probes that help to regulate the ventilation.

Located in the financial heart of Madrid, the easy pedestrian access to the store enables people to walk there easily. In addition, it encourages sustainable mobility through the covered parking areas enabled for bicycles, and parking spaces for employees who share a vehicle.

Sustainable fashion: eco-efficiency technology

Our sustainabilityand energy efficiency consulting services helped to evaluate the necessary parameters, reducing consumption levels in order to meet the LEEDTM Gold certification. The store also achieves the maximum qualification in the SEAS eco-efficiency standard that Inditex and Arup have developed for the evaluation of all of the group's stores worldwide.

To ensure optimum air quality in the store, continuous controls are carried out using CO2 probes that regulate the ventilation and the supply of external air, achieving a 30% increase in the amount established by the standards.
