"What's the matter? All I said was that Komaytos look like little Metr-"

Not a bad tracking job! But I still ain't sure about that hundred percent rating, Big Time.

Biography[]

Zoomer worked in the Mother Brain Chamber of Metroid. Zoomer was wiping Mother Brain's Control Capsule with white cloth while she hired 'Big Time' Brannigan, and Zoomer questioned the Bounty Hunter's self-advertised "100% efficiency rating", mentioning that it had heard rumors otherwise. Big Time fired upon Zoomer in retaliation, claiming to hate "unsightly lint".

Zoomer was assigned by Mother Brain to provide Rio backup for Big Time. Zoomer and its Rio swarm confronted Samus Aran, revealing that Big Time was employed by Mother Brain. After Samus surrendered, Zoomer and Big Time escorted her to Mother Brain's chamber. As Big Time was carried away by the Rios as punishment for letting Samus escape, Zoomer jeeringly commented that Samus was the one with a 100% efficiency rating.

Characteristics[]

This Zoomer has a reddish-purple carapace with yellow spikes and segmented blue legs, resembling official artwork from Metroid. It displays sapience, since it is capable of speech; it often speaks in slang and mannerisms evocative of gangsters. It is also seen wielding a small firearm, demonstrating the ability to use tools and weapons. It works under Mother Brain and appears to command a swarm of pistol-brandishing Rios, although it is also apparently low enough in rank to be cleaning the Control Capsule.

Additional dialogue[]

Yes, Mother Brain!
That's not what I heard. There's a rumor--
If she moves, fry her!
I guess I was wrong, buddy. There is someone with a 100% efficiency rating... it just don't happen to be you!

Trivia[]

  • While this specific Zoomer is sapient, the rest of its species are canonically considered vermin and do not display advanced skills. This may be simply excused by Deceit Du Jour (along with other Nintendo Comics System comics) being a non-canonical story where Zebesian species, including Zoomers and Rios, are depicted as sapient.
