Can you get blacklisted from ASOS?
Online retailer Asos has announced a change to its returns policy which could lead to some users having their accounts deactivated. Earlier this year, Asos, in addition to several other retailers, said it was going to start blacklisting "serial returners" from the website.
ASOS have started permanently blocking customers who return clothes too often. Changes to the return policies were made over the weekend and people have been sent into panic that they are going to be banned from shopping on the site.
Within the first 28 days of an Asos purchase, consumers can return the product for a full refund. If consumers wish to return a purchase after 29 to 45 days, they can still do so, but will receive an Asos gift voucher for the amount they spent as opposed to a full refund.
If you enter your email address and/or password incorrectly three times, your account will be locked for 30 minutes.
Users returning too many items to the online fashion giant could be blacklisted according to new rules. Online shopping site ASOS has updated the terms and conditions of its returns policy in a bid to cut down on customers that are returning too many items.

Asos says it won't withhold customers' money if they've sent in returns, but if it suspects customers are wearing items or returning them, or ordering "excessive" amounts it may then suspend accounts so you won't be able to shop again.

So what does happen to our apparel when we order online and then return the items? The reality is that much of it simply ends up in landfill. That is, once its been shipped all over the country, or even the globe, a few times.
The system varies from company to company, but typically a returned item may get shipped to a processing depot, where it is sorted and its condition assessed. From there, it may be sent back to the store or e-commerce warehouse to be restocked — or repaired and then sent back.
Because of the cost that goes into that process, many retailers trash returned products, as doing so is generally cheaper than reselling them. Many of the goods returned to retailers are also used or damaged, which also affects the selling price.
