Did Negan know who Beta was?
We also find out that Beta in the series is a celebrity like his comic book counterpart, a famous basketball player turned actor. In the series, he is the singer Half Moon, who Alpha and Negan recognize. Half Moon is the only character to appear in all three of The Walking Dead universe series.
They control the walkers by taking advantage of their herding instincts. They've learned how to guide packs of walkers around almost like sheepdogs herding sheep. Carefully coordinated movements among the disguised Whisperers cause the real walkers to follow along.
The Walking Dead: Beta is Seemingly Immune to Walker Attacks.
The skin is processed. It masks their smell, and makes them smell a little dead, which allows them to move among the dead, but the inside of it…
He Always Wore a Mask
Even when Alpha and Lydia first encounter Beta, he wears a ski mask to hide his true identity. While it's not quite the same as wearing someone's dead skin on your face, it's telling that he always wanted to remain hidden.
In Robert Kirkman's comics, Negan is attracted to Alpha, but the two never have a sexual relationship.
Beta has no rules. Alpha might have seen value in keeping certain people alive. Beta sees more value in death. At the end of the day, Alpha and Beta might be tied in terms of their evil quotient, but in a fight you have more of a chance with someone like Alpha.
For a while now, we've had questions about the identity of Beta on The Walking Dead. Unlike Alpha and the other Whisperers, Beta never seems to want to reveal his face, almost out of fear of revealing something big about himself.
Alpha then hands Beta a branch and stretches her left arm out. Beta, without hesitation, begins to wound her by whipping her arm with the branch to make her stronger.
Ryan Hurst's "The Walking Dead" character, Beta, never took off his mask on the show since joining the zombie series on season nine.
Is Alicia immune to zombie?
Fear The Walking Dead Theory: Alicia is infected, but NOT with the zombie virus. As was obvious to anyone who saw the Fear The Walking Dead midseason finale, Alicia was sick.
We all know the actor behind the mask, of course. It's Ryan Hurst from Sons of Anarchy.
In Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard's Walking Dead comic book series, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the gang eventually stumble upon a new group of opponents known as The Whisperers.
On their way back, Rick and the group discover that Alpha has decapitated 12 residents of Alexandria, the Hilltop, the Kingdom and the Sanctuary, and that she used their heads placed on pikes to mark the border. After Negan appears to have joined her group, he fatally slashes Alpha across the neck and decapitates her.
There is really only one battle in this war. The Whisperer forces, led by Beta, meet the Militia forces, led by Dwight, in an open field. Thanks to the tactical brilliance of Negan whooping on people with Lucille (who tragically breaks), the Whisperers suffer heavy losses and are forced to retreat.
Samantha's bald head was necessary so that she can fully embrace her role as The Whisperers' terrifying leader Alpha on the show's last episode 'Omega' (February 17).
Prior to his time with the Whisperers however, Beta was revealed to be a solitary, socially awkward, and mentally unstable individual, having apparently turned into a recluse and gone insane after his best friend died.
Beta is the kind of person who values stability. Clearly he came from a place where he didn't have a lot of stability, and Alpha was able to offer that to him and give him the direction he needed to survive in the new world.
Backstory. In season 8, Negan vaguely states that he helped young people improve upon their weaknesses and molded them into stronger individuals. In the season 10 episode "Here's Negan", he is portrayed as having been a high school gym teacher. Negan later met a woman named Lucille and the pair fell in love and married ...

Negan killed Alpha in a moment straight out of the comics.
He truly doesn't believe in the Whisperer way of life. On the show, Negan appears to empathize with Alpha more and genuinely care for her to some extent.
However, Tales of the Walking Dead gave us a third Alpha flashback installment on Sunday night, and it revealed not only more of the story of pre-Alpha Dee (Samantha Morton) and her daughter Lydia (Scarlett Blum), but also the origins of the Whisperers — a group we learned was not, in fact, formed by Alpha.
Alphas rank at the top of the socio-sexual hierarchy followed closely by beta. Whereas omegas rank at the bottom of the hierarchy. The key difference between alpha, beta, omega is that while alpha males are the leaders and don't lack confidence, beta males are the quiet, loyal followers.
Even before Alpha and Beta created The Whisperers, however, Beta's face is never seen. He's wearing a ski mask in the flashbacks, and as we learn in this episode, his skin mask is made up of the face of his own dead son.
Another Whisperer stumbles upon Beta and says “It's you… your voice sounded familiar but…” And then Beta kills him. Of course.
One that was perfectly cast was Beta, Alpha's right-hand man. In the comics, Beta is seen with his Whisperer mask, which is made of skin, and he only hides the top portion of his face. When Ryan Hurst was cast in this role, fans were excited to see him portray this character.
Beta has gold teeth in the show. We worked from the outside in for this guy a little bit on exactly how we wanted him to look and differ from some of the other Whisperers.
To their horror, they find a line of ten decapitated heads on pikes made up of Ozzy, Alek, D.J., Frankie, Tammy Rose, Rodney, Addy, Enid, Tara, and Henry, meant to signify Alpha's territory boundary.
The Whisperers Poisoned The Water
Last episode, Gamma was found piling up walker bodies in the water by Alexandria. She was on orders from Alpha to damn up the creek as part of her attack to bring down the communities. Yet, a side effect of backing up the creek could be that the walkers are poisoning the water supply.
Is Beta a top or bottom?
Experimental results from tests of the Alpha (top) and Beta (bottom) prototypes.
Beta particles are much smaller than alpha particles and therefore, have much less ionizing power (less ability to damage tissue), but their small size gives them much greater penetration power.
They possess all the common physical attributes inherited in all werewolves and other shapeshifters, but they are stronger, faster, and better than Omegas. Some have even been known to be powerful enough to fight Alphas, even though they are the Werewolf pack leaders.
Alicia was bitten by a walker and was forced to amputate her arm. She believed she didn't get to it in time and that the infection did make it into her bloodstream. During the entirety of season 7, she battled fevers and fever-induced dreams, causing her to make poor decisions and obsess with dying or turning.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Fear the Walking Dead showrunner, Andrew Chambliss explains that Morgan's walker immunity comes from his near-death scent. Chambliss notes that Morgan's smell has tricked the walkers into believing he is one of them.

It turns out Beta was formerly a country-western-esque act who went by the stage name Half Moon. And one who was apparently famous enough to have a live album get a vinyl release.
The mask was keeping his celebrity secret. Alpha briefly gets a look at Beta's true face in the episode, and smiles before pulling the ski mask back down. It seems like she might recognize him, so it's possible that Beta's secret from the comics could also be revealed in the AMC series.
For some reason, Beta does not want anyone seeing his face -- and when Alpha saw it, she seemed to understand why and put his mask back on as a result. Some might think Beta is hiding scars from a horrific post-apocalyptic accident or simply doesn't want to connect with anyone so he covers his face.
In the comic book version of this story arc, Negan does indeed join the Whisperers, but he has an ulterior motive. During a conversation with Alpha, Negan betrays her and slits her throat. Negan leaves, and Beta takes over as the Whisperers' new leader.
Did Negan join the whispers?
Yet, it's not until after Alpha seduces him in the woods that Negan is officially inducted into The Whisperers, despite Beta's better judgment.
In the aftermath of the attack on the camp, Beta leads a group of Whisperers, made up of himself, Zion, a tracker and four unnamed Whisperers to retrieve Lydia.
Alpha let him live and left him tied to a tree in a place where the others would find him. She instructed him to tell the others what happened to the people who ended up being killed. This could have been a tactic to make all of the communities respect her power, or it could have been something else.
It wasn't easy for the comics to find a villain that could follow Negan; they did it with Alpha. End comic spoilers. You can catch Samantha Morton as Alpha, leader of the Whisperers, when The Walking Dead returns with the Season 9 premiere on October 7.
The Claimers (Season 4)
The Claimers first appeared in Season 4 of The Walking Dead when Daryl was alone after Beth was taken away.
As Lydia struggles free of her restraints, Negan leads Alpha to a nearby cabin, but it is soon revealed that Lydia is not in it. A confused Alpha turns to Negan, who then slits her throat while her guard is down, killing her. Negan then delivers Alpha's severed, reanimated head to Carol, who is pleased.

It's because Beta — who never removes his mask — is actually famous in real life (or at least, famous in The Walking Dead universe). That is the man beneath the mask on the cover of an album, one good enough that apparently Daniel — a music enthusiast — thought enough to bring with him.
Who is the kid obsessed with Negan?
Six years later, Brandon idolizes Negan Smith and becomes one of his guards. He served as the primary antagonist of the episode "What It Always Is".
In The Walking Dead's episode “Look at the Flowers”, Carol puts Alpha's head on a pike in true poetic justice, Daryl and Negan have a showdown, and Beta, finding Alpha's reanimated head goes off on a solo reflective journey. It is this journey which allows him to repair his damaged mask.
