Can you change gender in SWTOR?
Input? As far as I know, you can't change gender. There are various companion quests and things tied to gender. You can change hair, body type, race, etc.
The Appearance Designer was added to SWTOR not long after the game's release. It is an in-game tool that you can use at any point with any character to change their appearance and customization. Is it possible for the character to have his race changed? That being said, you can change your race for Cartel Coins using an Appearance Designer. You can find these on the Fleet and the Capital Worlds.
You also can't use titles in your character name, as titles are something you earn in-game. Using the word Darth, Jedi, Knight or General anywhere in the name will also make it invalid.

Your legacy IS your surname. You can either choose to display your legacy as a surname as in "John Doe" with Doe being your legacy, or you can display "John of the Doe legacy", or not display anything. To go to an Outfit Designer armor set, click on one of the numbered slots (1, 2, 3, etc.). Once your focus is on that slot, it will be identifiable by the Outfit Designer panel on the left side of the window. At any time, you can click Apply on that outfit to make it your character's appearance.
