Can ASOS ban you for too many returns?
Users returning too many items to the online fashion giant could be blacklisted according to new rules. Online shopping site ASOS has updated the terms and conditions of its returns policy in a bid to cut down on customers that are returning too many items.
They don't accept returns for unwanted items after these return periods. To make sure you do get a refund, you need to keep the item clean, and if it contains a hygiene strip, it must not have been removed. This means you definitely should not wear the item before returning – which would count as fraud.
For the small number of products that come back to us in need of a little TLC, we have handy teams on site who mend any small damages and wash, press and steam the products to make sure they're nice 'n' fresh. For anything that can't be sold, we send them to be recycled. Check out the video below for more info.

Online retailer Asos has announced a change to its returns policy which could lead to some users having their accounts deactivated. Earlier this year, Asos, in addition to several other retailers, said it was going to start blacklisting "serial returners" from the website.

One of the main issues with online shopping returns is that after going through this pollution-heavy process, most returned clothes end up in a landfill rather than being resold.
Because of the cost that goes into that process, many retailers trash returned products, as doing so is generally cheaper than reselling them. Many of the goods returned to retailers are also used or damaged, which also affects the selling price.
Do returns get thrown away?
Experts estimate that retailers throw away about a quarter of their returns. Returns and resale company Optoro estimates that every year, U.S. returns create almost 6 billion pounds of landfill waste.
Asos has warned that profits could slump to as little as £20m this year, down from over £190m last year, as cash-strapped customers hit by rising inflation return more items to the online fashion retailer.
