Thanks to his natural ability, Ray was able to discover the secret of the orphanage and also that Isabella was his mother.
Since Isabella thought that she'll never see her baby again she was shocked when she heard Ray sing the same song Isabella sang for her baby. However, this revelation didn't make her more caring or loving towards him. She stayed cold and acted the same way around him as she did with the other children.

Ray had planned his escape for years. He agreed to join Isabella and become her spy in order to learn as much information as he could about the demons and the farm.
Norman discovers Ray is the traitor and Isabella's informant and confronts him about where his loyalties lie.
She then understood that Ray was her own son who she now was forced to raise as livestock — a revelation which left Isabella in utter horror. Is The Promised Neverland appropriate for 11 year olds?
Kaiu Shirai's The Promised Neverland is one of the few instances of a modern shonen manga with a female protagonist. However, that series features an excessive amount of gore and violence, so it is not recommended for young children.
