Heat can relieve pain, and tea tree or chamomile oil, which have anti-inflammatory properties can help bring down the inflammation. Rinse the area with soap and water when showering. Even a salt solution application can help in faster healing and reduce the buildup of germs in the area.
There's very little chance of it closing up at this point. As it is right now, taking it off would only make it close up a tiny bit, which wouldn't make much of a difference when putting the jewelry back in. But if you don't want to risk it, you can always get a circular barbell and tuck it into your nose.
