The Georgia Student Finance Commission offers the HOPE scholarship program to Georgia students who graduated from an eligible high school and who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher as determined by Georgia state guidelines.
The workload at SCAD is tough but well worth the award if you are willing to try your hardest to suceed. That is especially true for incoming students who aren't prepared to take all the work SCAD requires and just think they are in for an easy ride because they are attending an art school.
First-year students who live in residence halls are discouraged from bringing vehicles to the university. All students living in the residence halls are permitted to have only one vehicle (e.g., motorcycle, car or truck) on the university grounds at one time.
The Savannah Film Festival is a huge event that happens each year, but tickets sell out fast because it's a community event. SCAD is be no means a party school. Most people just get high in their small groups in their dorm, and then make some more art. The parties are small and in the dorms.
