Many ballerinas prefer to wear bras under their leotards. This is because some ballerinas feel that the leotard's thin material is not enough to provide them with the support they require, and hence, they often bras to feel more secure while performing ballet.

Dancers do not wear athletic cups in place of or with their dance belts. Although, some dancers may wish they were wearing one when partnering a ballerina, particularly when there's an accidental knee to the groin during a rehearsal or performance!
If you have larger breasts that need the support of a bra (or just prefer wearing one), there are still plenty of options. Stick to nude bras, and match your bra style with that of your leotard. For example, if you've got a racerback leotard, go for a racerback bra to help keep the straps hidden.
There are many challenges a dancer faces at any given time. One that happens each month is menstruation. For most young and adult women, it's not a big deal. You use a pad or tampon, manage the cramps for a few days with some aspirin, and indulge in some junk food to satisfy those cravings.
Simply pair with your favorite warmers and leotard, pull on your slippers, and you are ready to go! An important style tip to note is that in class and rehearsals most dancers wear their tights over their leotard.
Kids do not need to wear underpants under their dance leotards and costumes just like they do not wear any under a bathing suit. If they are wearing tights these perform the same function as panties and socks.
Regardless of your age or abilities, ballet is for everyone, and it is never too late to start learning ballet as an adult.

- Keep bra straps in place using silicone bra strap cushioned holders.
- Use clear straps on your bras and they will be less noticeable.
Shelf Bras
