Water-Resistant
Fjällräven Kankens are brilliantly water-resistant. Vinylon F, the synthetic fabric they are made from, behaves more like a natural fibre and swells as it becomes damp. As it swells, the gaps between the woven fibres close more and thus it becomes more resistant to water penetration.

How do you fix a stretched beanie?
If your beanie is too big, whether because of a knitting or crocheting miscalculation or because it stretched, you can shrink it back to size with hot water. If your beanie is 100-percent cotton, you can shrink it with a trip through the washer and dryer, but if it's 100-percent wool, you will need to felt the fibers.
Make sure that the detergent that you're using is safe on wool or, better yet, wool-specific. After washing on cold, do not place your beanie in the dryer. Instead, lay it on a drying wrack or on top of a dry towel and let it air dry until there's no moisture left whatsoever.
